Stampede

First off... We finally got hot water back after a 4 day hiatus... felt so nice to take a nice hot shower this morning, hehe. These past few days sure taught me a lot about the things that we take for granted here in Canada. Things such as hot water, electricity and the like. It's strange how in most places in the world, most people don't have hot showers everyday, or use electricity at all, and here we are not even really capable of 'living' comforatably without such commodities without planning for them in advance (eg. camping, etc.).

But back to the what this blog has been titled for... the Calgary Stampede has been growing consistently for the past few years, not only in number of attendees, rides, games, but also in who comes to town to perform in concerts. This year, Michael W. Smith and Delirious will be in town to end off the Stampede. I mean, wow, we usually only get country singers/bands or secular Canadian artists. But for the stampede to actually grow big enough to invite big name Christian bands is something completely... different... and cool. On one note, this is awesome for Alberta as we continue to be a shining light in a country slowly falling into an inmoralistic nation. It's nice to see that Christians and Christianity is still welcome in such a time, and it gives hope for this country. But yeah, this will be a pretty awesome concert, not only because I like both Delirious and Michael W. Smith, but also because both of them have proven that they have awesome concerts. So it should be really cool.
