JesusExpo 2005 - The Joy and the Pain

Wow, JesusExpo was AWESOME! There was so many people that showed up, it was just... Awesome. There's no other words to describe it. Great Job everybody. Kudos to those who worked the Face Painting/Balloon Booth, cause you guys had non-stop work all day. But yeah, the worship service at the very end of the day was also Awesome. :P Anyways, guess all I can say about JesusExpo was that it was Awesome. Thank You God for the beautiful weather and the awesome turnout and the lack of complications throughout the day.

So, I guess that's the joy. :P Now to the pain... So... I got 4 stitches today. The first time I've ever gotten stitches, so I guess it was a... cool... experience. :P As for why I got 4 stitches... it was because I kinda stabbed myself in the side of my thumb with a knife. So, now my thumb is stitched up and bandaged and in extreme pain. However, I guess it wouldn't have been as bad if it didn't happen because of my own stupidity and happened because of something uncontrollable or unpredictable. BUT... it WAS because of stupidity (my own stupidity), so that makes this injury that much worse, cause it was totally preventable. For those of you wondering... I was tired and was rushed (or felt rushed), so I wasn't thinking... and I took my SwissArmyKnife to cut through some ducttape that was holding 2 hoses together... and when I cut through it... the knife slipped out and stabbed me in the thumb, and then the blood came squirting out... yes... squirting. I was actually surprised how calm I was at first... Andrew asked if I was alright and I said I was... and just stuck the thumb into my mouth so that blood wouldn't squirt everywhere on the street and walked to the first-aid kit and tried to bandage my own finger. However... when I realized that I couldn't put the bandaid on because of the massive amounts of blood coming out and that it wasn't going to stick... I started freaking out and ran out looking for my mommy. :P Luckily, my mom (a nurse), Auntie Daisy and Dr. Robert was able to patch me up (though I nearly passed out in the washroom). After they bandaged me up... I ended up walking around and helping out with things for about another 4 hours before they finally decided that I should go to a hospital or a walk-in clinic. So that was that. Such a perfect day, such a perfect event... and I had to go and do something so stupid and put myself into so much pain, sigh... I guess it's better that I did something stupid and hurt myself instead of doing something stupid and hurting somebody else... But yeah... Kudos to Tanya for not freaking out when I came to get a bandaid for my first-aid kit, and for getting me the bandaid and the paper towels and for cleaning up the blood that I dripped on the floor. :P
Okay, time to catch up on sleep. Hopefully, my thumb won't be hurting after tonight... hopefully the kids don't do anything to it during VBS this week. Anyways... JesusExpo... so awesome. Time to kick it up yet another notch. BAM!
