It is the starting of a streak... a winning one this time. :P We won our 2nd soccer game today and are now .500 for the season. Who would have thought? :P We are slowly improving as a team, though we are still outscored 11-5 on the season. The possible reasons as to our sudden turn-around? 1) We finally realized that even though this is called a recreational league... most other teams are competitive. Therefore, so must we be, as evidenced by most of the team now owning cleats and shin pads. 2) We finally understand the concept of positional play. Therefore, we have better passing and better coverage. 3) We added AJ (the rep league player) to the roster. Therefore, we now have more players that truly understand and know how to play the game. 4) We finally have fans that come out to watch us play that either cheer or taunt us. or 5) We've played 2 sub-par soccer teams... :P
Oh, and I didn't wipe out this time (possibly because I bought a pair of $9 cleats from Wal-Mart)... though I did misplay a trap really badly... and my left-foot kicks/passes are still really lacking.

wow, you're in a soccer league. cool. Yes, cleats and shin guards do help. Good analysis as to how the team is now better. :p
