ISTJ

ISTJ - Trustee

ISTJs are dependable pillars of strength. They make good boy or girl scouts! 6% of the total population.

When their skills at maintaining the structures that they believe hold up society fall short of achieving the security they are striving toward, ISTJ's become tired and weary. If the stress becomes overwhelming, ISTJ's become immobilized and cannot fill the responsibilities that they consider necessary for rightful membership within their community. They become incapacitated by concerns of a bankruptcy. ISTJ's may then further increase their attention on the details of the situation that is causing them stress. This sometimes results in accusations by those around them that the ISTJ is becoming over-demanding, irritable, inflexible, and impatient with others.

Fearing the breakdown of a trustworthy system and dreading becoming an outcast, the ISTJ may feel like energy is being drained from their bodies. Fatigue will set in and it will be exacerbated by a loss of sleep and of appetite. Depleted of their resources, ISTJ's will be unable to meet many of their obligations or fulfill their duties to their work and to others. Not being able to fulfill this basic need, the ISTJ becomes further stressed and almost incapacitated by listlessness —making it all the more difficult be responsive to others.

Careers

This lists represent careers and jobs people of your type tend to enjoy doing. The job requirements are similar to the personality tendencies of your personality type. It is important to remember that this is not a list of all the jobs possible. And it is very important to remember that people can, and frequently do, fill jobs that are dissimilar to their personality... this happens all the time...and sometimes works out quite well.

Ever feel like you don't know who you are anymore? That you've been molded by the people and environment around you? That you've worn a mask for so long that you no longer know if it's real or not? That every decision you make is determined not by your own wants/needs/desires but because it is what you think others would want you to do? If so... how do you get out of the valley and back on top? How do you re-realize who you are? Realize what you are meant to be/do? And how do you achieve a dream that no longer seems to exist?

Round and round I go,
I never seem to learn.
Absolutely no flow,
When you don't know where to turn.

Flames Predictions

Can't sleep. As usual. Thought I'd make idle predictions on what the Calgary Flames could do and end up looking like by the start of the season. Idle hopes.

Tanguay (3.5) - Richards (6.5) - Iginla (7.0)

Glencross (2.55) - Jokinen (3.0) - Moss (1.3)

Bourque (3.33) - Backlund (1.27) - Jackman (.555)

Kostopolous (.916) - Byron (.600) - Bouma (.600)

Ivanans (.600)

= 31.7 total.

Apparently the Flames have made a contract proposal to Brad Richards that is equivalent to the Rangers deal. Now it depends on which team Richards prefers to play on (he supposedly loves New York - and is also being courted by other teams such as the Kings and Leafs).

BUT if he does choose to sign for the Flames... that would make for a pretty sweet first line. And the second line showed it can be productive after it was formed late in the season. Third line has potential and keeping Bourque would allow for someone to step up to the top 6 when needed. Keeping Kostopolous on the fourth line to help stabilize the 4th line and allow us to bring in more young bodies like Byron (since Feaster says he's ready for the big time) Bouma, Meyer or any other combination would reward players and allow for actual development to occur. Keep Ivanans for situations requiring a tough guy (IF he's even able to play again...)

Bouwmeester (6.68) - Giordano (4.02)

Sarich (3.6) - Butler (1.25)

Carson (.575) - Brodie (.716)

Mikkelson (.800)

= 17.641

Time will tell if Regehr was holding Bouwmeester back due to his slow skating and poor puck handling... or if it was Bouwmeester holding Regehr back. (I'm hoping for the former). This is the next step for Giordano's development and allows for the opportunity for a player like Brodie to step in to the NHL. However, it does make for a lot of unknowns in the bottom 4, so signing someone like Babchuck to help shore the defense would not be a poor idea (depending on how much he is asking for - if Pardy can get a 2mil per year contract... what is Babchuck going to ask for??)

Kipprusoff (5.83) - Karlsson (.862)

= 6.692

Kiprrusoff may not be as good as he once was, but he still performs at a pretty elite level. Though he did have more bad games over the past season, Karlsson should be able to play more this year after proving his worth. Granted, Irving performed great in the AHL last year as well, so there may be some competition for the backup.

Total cap hit = 56.033 mil which is approximately 7mil below the salary cap which would then allow us to sign a depth d-man to shore up the bottom 4 and maybe even Morrison to shore up the middle.

HOWEVER, this all depends on IF we're able to get rid of Hagman (3.0), Stajan (3.5) and Langkow (4.5). Though, with 7mil cap space with my proposed lineup, you could theoretically keep Langkow as depth down the middle and still sign a depth d-man. But you would still need to bury or trade Hagman and Stajan.

The Treadmill

There are days where you are going way too fast,
And all you can do is pray you don't fall.
Then there are days that go o' so slow,
And it takes all you have just to stand tall.

It may tilt into a hill or a mountain path,
And you'll need to dig deep to push on through.
Though you can not see what is coming up,
At least you know it'll stay straight and true.

And such is life; you live and you breathe;
So long as you keep moving and do not fall.
But if you stop and truly take a look around,
You'll notice you're still facing the same wall.

No matter how hard and how fast you ran,
How much cardio and how fit you became,
You've accomplished nothing and gone nowhere;
So in the end, you're still the same.

So it's time to get off that treadmill,
Where no decisions were truly made.
Get back outside and plug into reality,
And hope your decisions get a passing grade.

This path will have potholes and speed bumps;
It may be nice and the sun is shining; or not.
You'll come to multiple forks in the road;
And you'll need to make a decision; or rot.

There will be others on this path or passing by,
And you'll have to deal with each one as they do.
It may not always be easy or silky smooth,
As the drama of high school will follow you.

But you need to breathe it all in and take a look around,
All the joys and the pains, the laughter and the tears;
The people you love and even those you don't;
This is what life is all about, so have no fear.

Take a walk on the wild side, crawl if you have to.
But know that God is by your side, whatever you do.

Brokenness

God uses the broken.

He takes up the pieces and makes it into something greater then it was before.

But only if you let yourself be re-built. Only if you allow yourself to be placed into the refiners' fire. Only if you allow yourself to let go of the past.

Somehow, holding on to this pain, this brokenness, has become akin to an addiction. It's sad how this heartache and this pain can make me feel alive. It reminds me that I had a heart and a soul and had desires and dreams. Dreams that have come crashing down, desires that have eroded away, a soul that has lost it's way and a heart that is broken.

When... when can I finally let it go? When can I finally let myself go? When can I finally let my failures go? When can I finally let my expectations go? And just live. And just allow God to create in me a pure heart, to transform my dreams into something glorious, to conform my desires to His and to mold my soul in to His image...

Where did I go wrong?

Where do I go from here?

Joke Time

Five Surgeons Talking:

The first, an Ontario surgeon says: "I like to see accountants on my OR table, because when I open them up, everything inside is numbered."

The second, a Quebec surgeon responds: "Yeah, but you should try electricians. Everything inside of them is color coded."

The third, a B.C. surgeon says: "No, I really think librarians are the best, everything inside of them is in alphabetical order."

The fourth, an Alberta surgeon chimes in: "You know, I like construction workers... those guys always understand when you have a few parts left over."

But, the fifth, a Newfoundland surgeon, shuts them all up when he observed: "You're all wrong. Politicians are the easiest to operate on. There's no guts, no heart, no balls, no brains, and no spine -- and the head and the ass are interchangeable."
